AIMMAP in cooperation with other institutions (state and non-state ones) purposes: - To give support to the Metallurgical and Mechanical Engineering Industries in all the various areas: technical, technological, economic, social, training and information, so as to take advantage of all its resources and promote a continuous process of modernization in different fields.

- To foster the entrepeneurial cooperation.
- To promote a balanced growth and the modernization of its associated companies.
- To enable a better knowledge of the sector in a perspective of connection and interchange with national and international institutions and companies.
- To support the process of internationalisation of the companies of the sector.
- To cooperate in the definition of social and economic policies that may influence the sector.
